and the Republicans in these states still believe it's a hoax so I don't see it getting much better anytime soon.

(31,261 posts)And unfortunately, end results may be that way. POC have historically had worse health statistics, and a higher percentage work in jobs that are necessary for the country to function at even a minimal level.
MAGATS won't care until people that they love get really sick or die. Who knows when that will happen.

(100,063 posts)If I were Trump I'd be most worried about losing Florida, Texas, and Arizona, that's a lot of votes there.

(100,063 posts)I factored that Biden could win:
CA
OR
WA
NV
CO
MN
WI
IL
NY
VT
NH
MA
RI
CT
ME
MD
DE
DC
VA
Then possible flips would be:
- Texas turns blue
- Ohio turns blue
- Pennsylvania turns blue
- Florida remains red
That would put Biden at 326 - 212 which would absolutely crush Trump. Here's hoping!

(12,286 posts)As the spread accelerates among these red states with people not wearing masks it will reach enough people that they will know someone infected or at worst know someone who knows an infected person.
Their cavalier attitudes will suddenly seem foolish to many of them and theyll start to be careful. Or they will proceed with life as it used to be in the BC years (before Covid) and they too will get infected.

(51,308 posts)He just postponed Phase 3, and he has instituted a mandatory mask law - state wide.
Have any other governors done that?

(801 posts)Our response here in NC has been patchwork at best, with the governor staying on the safe(er) side, but lots of nay-sayers. We seem to be changing though. Just yesterday, our mayor of Winston Salem, Alan Joines, issues the order to wear a mask if in public, and today, the governor pushed back the opening to level 3 opening, stay at level 2 for three more weeks.
I'm hoping that we'll be the first off the list of highest 10 shortly, but i guess it depends on how seriously the good people of this state take these damn overbearing, leftist, snowflake guberment intrusions!!! Most of them are not as bad as the ones that'll die for tRump rather than wear a mask, but it's gonna be a fight!

I live in a red county, and almost everyone I see is wearing masks.

(6,110 posts)GOP has been pushing to open bars, gyms, and various other businesses. The governor had just vetoed a bill to force opening of these but the House sustained his veto.

(38,414 posts)Florida, Texas, Arizona will vote against Trump. Too many deaths, too many lies from Trump. Trump doesn't have a clue. I won't be surprised if he looses them all.
...Trump is a lying, evil, bully and most of the people in the U.S.A. are sick & tired of his lies and cons. Even republicans are sick of him as we see almost every day with a story about a life long republican who will not vote for Trump this time. Yes, it may be the only time that person will not vote for a republican.....but not this time. Trump is a total looser and con artist whose played one too many cons on the people in the U.S.A. and the people of the world.
