Texas governor says there is a "massive" coronavirus outbreak across the state after reopening

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/texas-coronavirus-governor-greg-abbott-massive-outbreak-reopening/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=91774385

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said Wednesday the state is facing a "massive outbreak" in the coronavirus pandemic and that greater restrictions may be necessary. Abbott made the comments during an interview with CBS affiliate KFDA-TV in Amarillo, Texas.

When asked if he still considered the Texas panhandle a "hot spot" for coronavirus infection, Abbott replied, "There is a massive outbreak of COVID-19 across the state of Texas."

"Today will we have 5,000 people test positive, again, as well as more than 4,000 people hospitalized because of it," Abbott told the station, though he noted that Amarillo was doing better than some other areas.

I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!!!

Who knew that a virus that spreads easily if social distancing and mask wearing are not observed, for which we have no effective treatment, no natural immunity, and no vaccine; would increase if we just opened right back up after doing little for 4 months?!?!

Utterly wasted. Republicans' obsession with spending government money stopped all the benefits and forced people to go back to work, ready or not. Surprise! We weren't ready. The first wave never ended, and we're back to the wildfire stage of outbreak. Tell people to stay home and give them free money to do so was just too much for the Trump administration. Trump acts like that money is coming out of his pocket instead of the federal treasury.

So Texans are finding out that their state leadership, at the urging of their federal leadership, totally pissed away all the time they had bought for these leaders to get out in front of the pandemic. Instead, that effort was wasted on puling by Trump about how unfair everything is to him.

Shutting down, Social Distancing and wearing masks — our only weapons — were proven effective. Then Putin’s Puppet started with time to get back open and it’s been a simmering mess.

Since this reopening business is all about money

I think there should be class action lawsuits
