(6,552 posts)Sometimes Joy pushes people too hard when they present another view. She has a hard time respecting an opinion that differs from hers. She could spend a bit more time listening instead of quickly responding.

(12,046 posts)Good for Joy!
And btw good for Democrats heading into the fall election season with someone who will be a liberal voice in prime time as opposed to a wishy washy both sideser like Kornacki.

(17,927 posts)Since they've been mentioned as potential replacements: I'm not a fan of Kornacki as a host; he's good as an analyst doing election returns and presenting complex political data. (IMO) Chuck Todd is a very weak journalist; he's seemingly incapable of asking probing, follow-up questions when the situation demands it, and his on-screen mannerisms grate on one's nerves.

(17,965 posts)A little memory: I saw her in person in Santa Monica during the California primary in June 2016. She was coming out on stage for Chris Matthews panel, which was outside under tents on the pier. She was a little too far away for me to shake her hand, but she was very engaging with her fans. Chris Matthews was very standoffish. I have pictures.

How can she ever be considered credible after the time traveling Russian hackers?

I see some are already unhappy, but then again some don't like motherhood and apple pie, either.
They should shitcan Chuck Todd and give her two hours, or maybe give Nicole Wallace two hours and shitcan Chuck Todd.

(252,161 posts)I still remember one time when Joy Reid was subbing for Rachel Maddow and Ari Melber was following as a sub for Lawrence O'Donnell. During the handoff, they discussed a NYT interview with Trump that they'd both just received. Ari asked Joy if she'd come on his show to discuss this latest news - and by the time she got there, she was conversant with the entire article, made for a very informative show!
