(7,715 posts)That's the first Mac commercial from the 1984 Superbowl, right?

(86,564 posts)These are getting better as time goes on. These ad campaigns have drawn blood, now they are making sure the bleeding continues... I hope.

(408 posts)that this is the original Mac advertisement from the 1984 Super Bowl, right? Except, of course, it "starred" Big Brother, not donald trump.

(3,056 posts)But DAY-UM!!! These guys and The Lincoln Project are absolutely relentless. I'm so glad they're on our side. They're not letting a 24 hour cycle go by without hitting him, and hard. The last time I saw response to Rethug bullshit this fast was in '92 with James Carville. But even under him the Democrats have never been this cut throat in their ads, and this is exactly what's needed against Trump. I'm sorry, Michelle, but we can no longer afford to "go high". It's going to be a mud wrestling contest, but if we don't get down there, our democracy is over.
Donald IS big brother.

(3,056 posts)I was thinking the same thing. They, unlike Trump, ask permission to use other people's property. And I'm sure Apple, or whoever owns it, was happy to let them use it.

(17,339 posts)And as an added bonus a Junior Tone Police badge, a set of Clutchable Pearls, and a Comfy Fainting Couch will be included.
The Olive Garden raised breast feeding pit bull is on back order.

(15,241 posts)I just wanted to put your post into a subject line for more visibility.
Great set of phrases.
(I don't get the Olive Garden one, tho. I also don't watch T.V. so I always lose at trivial pursuit.)

(38,311 posts)Damn those were wonderful times before Trump when pit bulls, not covid-19, were the worst thing in the world and there were threads about breastfeeding in restaurants with over a hundred replies.

(17,339 posts)Do a search on 'Kudzu', 'Fried Chicken', Olive Garden, breastfeeding, and pit bulls, or only one of those terms and you will uncover a treasure trove of ancient flame wars.
Oh and also look for 'I am owed beer money and expenses' and 'The Door Buzzard'. Your life will never be the same again.

(38,311 posts)Steve Jobs was a fascist asshole.
The Macintosh was fascism in a cute little box.
There was no revolution.
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates did everything they could to suppress freedom in computing.
That commercial makes me angry every time I see it.
Nevertheless, I'm campaigning wholeheartedly for Joe Biden.
