After he was President he would regularly be seen walking around the streets of Independence by himself and was super friendly with everyone.

My dad, who served in WWII, left for Korea and I didn't meet him until 3 years later.

Born in November of that year. We had a real President then and look what we have now. What a difference 70 years makes!

The Koreas could look entirely different today if that didnt happen. No wonder Truman fired him.

The U.S.A. had a large stockpile of atomic bombs by then and was already working on the hydrogen bomb.
