Watching MSNBC, a unique choice to spend ad money on, and trump is running ads attacking Biden on his age of all things. Seems a bizarre strategy for a person just 3 yrs younger and very obviously in poor health and in significant mental decline.
These ad buys are fear-mongering, racist, ageist and disjointed. There is no winning message for them and it shows.
GOTV, the only poll that matters is on November 3rd.

They have no message. They have no agenda for the next 4 years. And they have no achievements, except for having given handouts to high donors and billionaires. When all is said and done, they had no "winning".

(1,206 posts)And the fact that a vaaaaaast majority of Trump's voters (and Republican voters in general), are over 65 - and probably skew slightly older.
Kinda dumb to call one of their own uh, feeble.
It all boils down to Trump's inability to attack a straight, white guy that is universally respected on both sides of the aisle - he has no playbook for that.

(16,646 posts)I've read that the GOP can't find a winning message. They tested a couple dozen ideas and nothing really works with the focus groups. Strangely, the age issue version is one of the worst with it merely bringing up Trumps own health issues. However, apparently, it works very well with the base so I suspect that's why it's getting used.

(82,849 posts)Trump's half-assed, scatter-shot response to the pandemic has not worked, and has actually made the situation, bad as it is, worse. Hard to believe, but the evidence is irresistible. Now, after doing what I'm sure is his best for what he would consider an unconscionably long period of time, Trump has basically given up any role in responding to the pandemic. He's lost interest in it because he doesn't see a way to make a profit off it, and Trump is about nothing if he's not about a transaction. So, the nation is on its own and he doesn't care.
Similarly, if we keep hammering him and his poll numbers keep slipping because he's such a lethally incompetent administrator, he will lose interest in the election. He'll doubtlessly try to talk a good game, but there won't be any real effort to stop his slide, and he'll convince himself that the reason he's losing is someone else's fault (as always). He'll become more and more obnoxious, but after the grand spectacle he wants to stage for himself at the nominating convention, there won't be anything left for him but an historically bad loss at the polls.
Let's keep up the pressure and make things look more hopeless for Trump and his team each day. Make sure you're registered to vote (if you do nothing else), and ask your friends and neighbors to be sure they're registered. Let's make Trump a byword for failure.
