Robert Trump's lawsuit against Mary Trump's book was just dismissed by a judge

Robert Trump's lawsuit against Mary Trump's book was just dismissed by a judge, Mary's attorney
@BoutrousTed says: "The court has promptly and correctly held that it lacks jurisdiction to grant the Trump family's baseless request to suppress a book of utmost public importance."

Trump can try to refile elsewhere. Boutrous says "we hope this decision will end the matter. Democracy thrives on the free exchange of ideas, and neither this court nor any other has authority to violate the Constitution by imposing a prior restraint on core political speech."

this is when Trump kicked the very sick grandbaby of Fred Jr off the Trump insurance plan.

And they wonder why Mary Trump hates him.

Trump seems to think that because there was a NDA attached to the lawsuit, Mary and her brother can never say or write anything about the family.
Ha. Let's see how long that holds up.

It's great to see, btw, that "prior restraint" is still not allowed-- you can't restrain the publication of a book. (Nixon tried to do that with the Pentagon Papers, and he probably had a much better case because they were "stolen" and much was classified.)

there are Trump-lite people in every family, no wonder 63 million people voted for that clearly corrupt fool.

I hope that you and others have not yet and won't be going through an inheritance situation for a long time. It really brings out the worst in people. Trump just took it to an obscene level, but people like us had it figured out as soon as he ran, so nothing that has come out or will come out on him was or will be a surprise.

which handles estates and similar matters. The judge simply said his is the wrong court to file a restraining order like this.

In other words, go bark up some other tree.

The court will say-- you can sue after but you can't block publication.

I don't know that all richy-rich families are dysfunctional, but boy, this is a real prime one for the proposition that extreme wealth is bad even for the wealthy.

How can an attorney file in such an obviously wrong venue? You learn that sh*t in law school the first week in New York Civil Procedure.

doesn't that mean that there is no longer an entity that is tied to that clause?

Sure, she might have said she wouldn't blab, but that should have dissolved with the estate.

If anything, Trump's hired attorneys who are fucking morons.

her contract was with other beneficiaries, not the estate, so she is still bound by the terms of the agreement. Your reason however is why the judge dismissed the case -- since the estate is dissolved he has no jurisdiction and it should be filed in a court with general jurisdiction rather than limited.

ETA: Robert also just got out of the hospital and filed his lawsuit after getting released. He also was in hospital for a couple of weeks.
