We are tired of this shit. We are tired of being hated covertly, now openly. We are killed by these same people. I don't blame any of us that are now even more than "tired". We ask nicely and politely.... Over and over and over again to let us be and certain white people refuse. Do you understand how it feels to have people negate you to the point where they feel it is the RIGHT to treat you like garbage in public???

Now, I'm not going to defend anybodies violence, but by the same token I'm also not saying that there isn't a breaking point. I'm not going to act like 4 years of this overt hatred supported by the highest office in the land, enforced by the police and sanctioned by 60% of white people; either by their rabid support or complete indifference hasn't brought us here. If you are upset with this woman's reaction then I suggest you find 6 of the 10 white folks you know that champion and/or tacitly condone this sort of thing and tell them to leave us the hell alone.

It's possible that the other woman egged her on - as we saw - and, finally after insisting she didn't say it - she repeated the word that had been yelled towards her.

Or it's possible she said it in the beginning - and tried to get out of it by saying she said excuse me.

Both are possible.

It's a point no one is making you're arguing against.

Understanding that frustrations are hitting critical mass is simply not the same thing as stating "I like violence! It's the answer!!"

But you know that,

Or don't... yet should, ("both are possible", mmm-kay?)

Either way, way to advertise some good old fashioned, sanctimonious self-righteousness at the expense of everyone not making that argument!

But I did hear a white woman call a black woman the N word after being confronted about her prior usage.

Do you think it probable that she just happened to decide it was okay to say in that situation? Or is it likely she had said it before and had no problem with saying it a second time?

I think the odds are incredibly low that she misheard the woman and the woman was also willing to use it during the confrontation. And she didn’t get hit for using it initially - she got hit for using it during the confrontation we saw.

While legally our heroine will have to face an assault charge I’d like to see the white woman get charged with disorderly conduct. But her real punishment is in the court of public opinion where she will be named and shamed. Her racism will result in many long term negative consequences.

The acts prohibited under the California disorderly conduct statute appear to be sexual in nature, primarily. That surprised me.

They have a misdemeanor for offensive words, however. In Oregon, where I practiced law, the state constitution gives speakers huge protections on speech, broader than the U S Constitution.

Typically states criminalize fighting words and participating in such altercations. Maybe they call it disturbing the peace there, or maybe something else entirely.

I guess people are pretty damned ignorant of how it makes a person feel.

From the article:

The video doesn’t show how the fight began, but the white woman swears she only said “excuse me.” The Black woman said that she heard something different.

The Black woman then says she’ll beat the hell out of the white woman if she ever uses a racial slur again, and then repeatedly demands that she say it. That’s when the white woman drops the racist pejorative.

Demanding the woman say it? WTF? Yeah, the white woman should have simply walked away, but the black woman was clearly looking for a fight.

manhood or whatever. ALLL THE DAMN TIME.

It's not the physical altercation that is alarming to the Karens here. White folks do have physical altercations amongst themselves, right? It's not the first time we've seen a generic person throw a punch after being insulted by another. It won't be the last either.

What's different here: that punch was thrown over the topic of race. And, suddenly Karen is clutching pearls. Oh my, is the left condoning physical assault? Horrors!!!

Tell me I'm wrong. The people on this thread who are all bent out of shape wouldn't bat an eyelash if this were two white people duking it out over the last 6-pack of budweiser or 12-count package of toilet paper rolls at the local Piggly Wiggly.

But here we are. Reaching for the smelling salts. All because a BLACK person is punching the lights out of a white person who insulting her.

The rules of the street apply in this case. You live by the sword? Expect to die by the sword.

That lady shouldn't be going around insulting people in public and expect to get away with it. Especially if she used the n-word. Damn straight.
