Whatever happened to the massive caravans traveling to the southern US border?

Shouldn't they have arrived by now?

Right before the 2018 midterm elections, the media was going on incessantly about caravans from Latin America headed to the United States.

The goal was obviously to scare the white folk just prior to the election. Hoards of brown people are coming your way!

The media did the same thing in 2014 with the Ebola virus. Once the 2014 election was over, the media barely mentioned Ebola again.

The truth is that the "caravans" and Ebola were never actually a threat.

I wonder what the right wingers and their enablers in the media have up their sleeve for 2020.

Bin Laden sent out all those tapes at the most opportune times. After the election they just magically stopped.

Another was subject to controls before it arrived and arrived at the border attenuated.

Steps were taken to keep others from forming.

There was ridicule that such things could be claimed to exist. Then it turned out that some were forming and those who ridiculed the notion supported them whole-heartedly. Then it turns out that they'd happened before. Then the grassroots things turned out to have organizers.

It was really embarrassing as everything that was false turned true, and everything impossible turned necessary.

As for Ebola, much of the problem was the media. It was a threat. It was dealt with. Had things gone differently, it would have been a problem. Threats averted are easily claimed to have never been a threat at all.

Take the risk of nuclear war. There wasn't any real missile crisis in Cuba and at no point was there any risk. How do we know? Because there was no nuclear war. No, this isn't logic. It's "I want to believe, please, give me a reason, however slight."
