Expect them to let the Con know their feelings when the EU bans all Americans

The VP of Global operations or director of technology, or their people can't go check on things and make enhancements in the EU.
That should go over bigtime!

(21,137 posts)The rich are going to be pissed they cant take their private yachts, visit their villas or go on shopping sprees in Italy and France.
Last year In the fall I took a cruise in Europe and we were planning to take another. But now thats a distant dream.

(268,980 posts)I remember flying to Denmark from Miami some years back and there were several young men and women heading for equestrian competitions. A wide cross section travel to Europe but the rich will be the most pissed.

(33,327 posts)He doesn't care what Davos attendees have to say, what Hollywood Librulz with French Chateaus have to say, what Billionaires with helicopter-pad yachts off the Capri or Ibiza have to say.
He only cares what he has to say. He's not even convinced anyone else is real; such is the life of the elderly Solipsist.

(12,858 posts)Arthritis made airplane travel impossible, cost shot up dramatically.
So even without arthritis and pandemic (and age now) don't think I could fulfill my 20 plus yrs old dream
Really glad I did travel when I had the youth, the health, and the money!

(10,052 posts)to travel in your own country. Ever feel like you are trapped? This is not a good thing when your president is killing people with a virus and there is no escape.

(15,241 posts)just about everything will be impacted by the travel restrictions.
Of course the airports are contracting violently along with all the people who work there and do the services.
Hotels and their crews. Rental car agencies and flooded used car lots.
Traveling salespeople and mid-level restaurants suffering from loss of their meal revenues.
Corporate business offices. HR departments.
On a positive note, there's lots of demand for real human services - food, shelter, healthcare, clothing, caring.
Just not enough money.
Thanks, (r)epuglicons.

However, it would have been very hard to do business without those trips. It would have hurt my company's bottom line for sure.

(16,374 posts)Went to Ireland once in the summer. Great trip, but too many people. I like off-season.
I have hated the con for a long time, and knew very early on this pandemic and its mishandling by our govt. would make american travelers pariahs in the rest of the world but this will come as a surprise to many people who are either low info types or the few Dump voters who travel abroad.

The airlines are already shutting down American travel even as the EU hasn't decided (yet) to cut us off.
FWIW his company is pulling all levers to get him on a plane with any international carrier tomorrow but doesn't look hopeful.

(90,674 posts)For the rest of us, Europe is a once in a lifetime thing -- maybe twice -- and it would pretty much suck to look at our current situation and realize that our country literally sickens the rest of the world and they want us to stay away.
