HuffPost article about the editorial, which was published online last night:
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/wall-street-journal-editorial-donald-trump-election-warning_n_5ef5d019c5b6ca97090e1856
The conservative newspapers board said Trump had reverted to his worst form just four months before the 2020 election, and that he had no second-term agenda, or even a message beyond four more years of himself with little time to recover.
-snip-
But millions of Americans are close to deciding that four more years are more risk than they can stand, said the board, which in recent weeks has attacked Trump over his haphazard coronavirus task force briefings and his attempted smearing of MSNBCs Joe Scarborough.
The editorial also suggested that Trump lacks the self-awareness and discipline to campaign on an agenda of resurrecting the economy following the pandemic.
-snip-
The WSJ editorial board is delusonal if they think Trump has "reverted" to anything. What they call "his worst form" is his ONLY form. They just chose to blind themselves to it because of tax cuts and deregulation.
And they're lacking in self-awareness themselves if they're just NOW worrying that Trump lacks self-awareness and discipline.
This editorial shows just how panicked even the elite of the traditional right are now.
But the monster they're watching is the one they helped create. And history won't forget that.

(2,289 posts)While the WSJ may think that tying the Senate's fortune/future to Trump's may be a wake-up call for Trump, I can easily imagine Trump feeling satisfied that if he goes down, at least he won't be the only one, and he'll have lots of others to blame for his loss ("if they had just worked harder to get reelected", etc.).

(18,888 posts)had just worked harder and gotten my agenda passed none of this would have happened. Its easier to nail jello to a tree than to get a narcissist to accept blame for a bad outcome.

(11,885 posts)And with trump and the Republicans stiffing the American people with this next stimulus payout to us is so low , we'll soon be heading towards the trump depression, which when he realizes he will lose he will then do things causing it to be worse knowing his fate and freedoms will be pretty horrible for him and all his family when he's ousted. Expect some really wild threats from trump soon as he sees things continue to snowball against him, ad more gets exposed. He now knows he will not escape justice i think . Likely why he looks like shxt too.
