Suddenly he has this "son" who's never been mentioned before, and the "son' actually has a father that he's lived with until recently, and Gaetz goes on and on about how this unknown "son" that he has no legal connection to is the light of his life?

Why does Gaetz make it so hard to believe him?

He basically just trotted out a family friend and claimed that he considers him to be a son for political points, but didn't fully think it through. Now he's stuck with this BS story that will lead to decades of rumors. Massive fail. I feel bad for the kid in all of this.
