Hint: Political attacks on Trump should focus on his WEAKNESS

and impotence and inability to get done the things his corporate sponsors and Russian overlords are paying him to do. Do not focus on his criminal acts--his base wants him to flout the law. They think that Jim Crow laws were good and the U.S. Constitution was written by a bunch of commies. The kind of political attacks that will drive a wedge between him and his base are ones that portray him as ineffective. Scared. Infantile. Weak.

1. I don't think his base cares how he is characterized. They didn't care in 2016

and the polls seem to indicate that his minority is locked in, in the face of tons of evidence he is what you say. They figure that the ends justify the means.

I think Dems have to show how voters have been directly harmed by his actions and inaction. There are many examples of this - cutting out coverage by undermining Obamacare; low real wage gains; parks aren't maintained; military weakened; etc.

Guess I skimmed over that.

I think his base is a lost cause. They were never reasoned into their position and can't be reasoned out. The only thing that will snap them out is if tRump whacks them upside the head with a 2x4. Maybe the deaths of the Americans that Putin paid for will peel off a few, but I hope the original poster won't spend much time on his base.

17. No problem! I agree, except that I do think there is a chance that some who

feel adversely affected personally (e.g., relative gets very sick from COVID; base member loses health care coverage) may become more disillusioned with him.

he’s a loser. “ Hell, he can’t even keep a couple of kids in cages! Can’t find the money to build the wall to keep our women and children safe from those plague ridden foreigners. Can’t even figure out how to chop down a couple of trees. LOSER!!!”
His base likes him because they see him as strong and a fighter focus on the fact he’s a loser and wimp who walks away from a fight.

4. They should do it, but the effect would be more on Trump than the voters.

He would be consumed by answering every charge of weakness. There is a reason why he didn't get to the Biden attacks at his rally until an hour into the debacle. He had to counter the "can't walk a ramp or drink water" memes first. When he finally did get to Biden, his remarks fell flat on the bored audience.

Portray him as weak, feeble, an object of ridicule, a beta cuck, a whining baby, whatever is the opposite of how his cult wants to see him.

They thought he was the big tough guy who was going to swoop into Washington and save them all, and now they are seeing that he hasn't been able to deliver, and he's failing miserably. Rolling over for Putin and other dictators is not a good look for him and this Afghanistan bounty issue is going to be the nail in his coffin.

8. John Bolton pointed out a lot of his weaknesses.

Although Bolton is almost universally despised in the Democratic Party, he still has a lot of credibility with a good percentage of so-called "conservative" Republicans.

The more publicity that his book receives on talk radio and right-wing media, the more it drives a wedge between him and a good percentage of his supporters.

Also, the more that Democrats criticize Bolton, the more Republicans are inclined to believe him.

This is a "freebie" for Democrats.

You can decide if that counts, Bear.
Obviously PINO can that. Otherwise he wouldn't even be PINO!

14. I call it his biggest vulnerability: Being seen as a loser.
Sat Jun 27, 2020, 03:43 PM

Universally stated by his biographers, it's known his very being is driven by the desire to win at any cost and he cannot stand to be seen as a loser.

Underneath his disrespect for women, I consider his worse personal defect to be lying and feel that should be used as a media weapon against him each and every day. There is an abundant supply of free material to use in ads.

Most Americans do not like liars.
