"SNIP......
A new Pew Research survey finds that 61% of Republicans believe the worst of the coronavirus pandemic is behind us, while 38% say the worst is still to come.
In contrast, just 23% of Democrats say that the worst is behind us, while 76% say the worst is still to come.

(12,712 posts)This is where denial turns seriously deadly.
When COVID-19 pops their bubble, it's going to be all the more of a sudden and clearly horrific reveal.
Meanwhile, that blatant ignorance is, in many ways, costing more lives while they wear blinders in the house of propaganda.

So only 1 in 9 white voters know someone who died of coronavirus. So ten percent of white Trump voters will know someone who dies. Unless of course if the hospitals get over-run in which case it will be higher. This could scare people from turning out to vote when reality finally sinks in to republicans. Or burst the Trump bubble they are in. I wonder if that will wake republican governors and the GOP the **** up? The only thing they care about is politics. I assume very few african americans are republican voters.

(3,257 posts)Here in Chicago, weve noticed that many who are African American are not wearing masks. And, I feel like Lori Lightfoot has done a good job communicating the fact. I wonder why that is? Is the info about the virus not reaching certain areas. I would think If my demographic was being hit hardest, I would definitely wear a mask. Does anyone know why that is?

(3,257 posts)Im embarrassed to say I didnt even think about it.
Is it about Elijah McClain? Maybe many are afraid to wear a mask? Its a choice to save their own lives from police thinking they look suspicious for wearing a mask. I now understand.
