Boom! Judiciary Committee pastes Lindsey 21-1 on Justic IG measure.

https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/504532-senate-panel-votes-21-1-to-back-justice-ig-measure-over-graham-objections?fbclid=IwAR02zrHEl0uHHKA5At8YOk9tgyP5h33cAFMEP8k9V11H401hQ5b7wpi-1uo

The Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation on Thursday to expand the authority of the Justice Department inspector general over opposition from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The committee voted 21-1 on the legislation, which would give the DOJ watchdog the authority to investigate attorneys within the department. Graham was the only senator to vote against the measure.

The vote sends it to the full Senate, where supporters acknowledge they don't know if it will get taken up for a vote in the face of opposition from Graham, who chairs the Judiciary Committee, and Attorney General William Barr.

Graham tried to change the legislation to require the attorney general to sign off on investigations into potential DOJ attorney misconduct.

Mitch and Lindsey may still win this one but it is a good day when Lindsey gets smacked down by all the Democrats and all of the Republicans on the panel where he is chair.

or something similar who will handle the annual audits, and employ all IG's.

Somehow that department needs to be insulated from the President, but I'm not sure how to do that given the current SCOTUS situation.
