An active shooter with an "AR-type weapon" has been reported at the Walmart distribution center south of Red Bluff, dispatchers said. There also was a fire at the location, and the suspect appears to have rammed a vehicle into the building, dispatchers said.
The incident was reported shortly after 3:30 p.m. and the suspect had been shot in the chest by around 3:45 p.m., dispatchers said.
Scott Thammakhanty, an employee at the facility's receiving center who unloads trucks, said he heard the shooter fire from a semi-automatic weapon.
"It went on and on I dont even know how many times he fired," Thammakhanty said. "I just know it was a lot."
