4. I visited there once it's not for me. I remember driving through this dirt poor little

village called Wildwood where the "help" lives. Then you come to the gates at the Villages where you have to have permission from a resident to enter. You drive down the street and you see these old geezers sitting watching the probably undocumented workers doing the landscaping. They drive around in golf carts some costing $20000 or more. The people I visited thought it was paradise but like I said not for me I don't want to live behind a wall with a bunch of Republicans. I was considering moving to Florida but I can't afford to pay
$150,000 for a mobile home that would sell for $20000 in Ohio and I certainly can't afford or want to live in the Villages.

If you want a vacation cabin down here, this is what you do.

- Buy a couple acres of old farmland that is no longer being farmed, it won't have a lot of big trees. Have it cleared. You can hire someone to Bush-hog it and rip up small roots for $1,000-$3,000, depending upon the person. Then level it and seed it with field grass, you can do that yourself with a rental tractor - a person would likely charge $1,000-$1,500 for that work.

- Buy a mini-House kit. The elaborate ones can run up to $30,000. You can get good ones for $10,000 and less. Amazon sells a variety of them. A handyman can erect it and seal it in maybe two days for maybe $2,000-$3,000.

-Add running water by drilling a very deep well. Add a septic system. The total of all that may run $10,000-$15,000.

My guess is you can set up a nice vacation place for $40,000 or less.

When you aren't using the place, you can rent it out as a vacation rental and recoup your money. There are local realtors that specialize in handling such rentals for owners.

these people will be begging for help....and we hear "I never thought it would get this bad"...

My cousin moved to this place a couple of years ago from New Jersey.

I don't hear from him very often but I hope he's enjoying his *new* life at The Villages!

I loathe these "over 55" places. I'd rather be dead than live in one of these hell holes for the rich only it seems.
