This afternoon my elderly mother and I met with her in-home physical therapist from Mission Hospital for the first time. He told me that Coronavirus was a media-induced hoax, and that it was just the flu. One phone call later, my mother has a new therapist.

here are links to the NC PT & OT professional licensing boards where you can file a complaint for unprofessional conduct. People who are licensed by the state must never use their status to harm patients/families.

My elderly neighbor died from Covid-19. She never left her own home & talked to her family through her patio door. The only people who went in were her home health aides, so it's assumed 1 of them had it.
Healthcare workers who don't take it seriously should be fired, full-stop.

Please dont lump us all into a group. My agencies screens everyone therapist daily before we can work, and every patient before we can treat. Dont let one bad apple spoil my hard work

(4,483 posts)A considerable number of the staff at the agency which cares for adults with serious disabilities, including my daughter, are refusing to be tested because if they test positive they must quarantine for two weeks, during which they will not be paid. These women already barely scrape by on their low wages, and the thought of losing two weeks' worth of them is more than they can handle.
We offered to pay my daughter's primary caregiver for her two weeks off if she tested positive, but she said if she took off two weeks she would lose not only her pay but her position as a head teacher.
This is a terrible problem, and I'm sure it is not limited to where I live.

(34,661 posts)happen last week. Spouse's Brother In Law was assigned a in home health aide last week. She showed up unannounced and fortunately the BIL's Daughter was at his house. Now this is Rural Southwestern Minnesota, the Lady was not equipped with any PPE at all. Needless to say,she did not gain entry and the Local Health Person was notified immediately .
Feed back was,PPE was not required in that situation. Yah right, well that did not go over to well, the Niece contacted State Health Officals and now the BIL will have a fully trained and equipped Health Aide.
The original Aide that showed up unannounced went on t Texting Rage at the BIL and his Daughter which have been copied to a hard copy and will be forwarded to the State.
