Yes Senator, you did miss a golden opportunity. The House provided you with a comprehensive blue print for change, and you offered up a weak tea compromise bill that did nothing to address the concerns of the people aggrieved by police actions. Concerns that you conceded early in the interview as being legitimate, worthy of consideration, and in need of address by Congress. You know and everyone knows that some half-assed do-nothing bill that could pass your bigoted brethren in the Senate would be the end of the discussion for another generation, and citizens would continue to be killed in the street by law enforcement.
