Unfortunately, I live under a flight path for the military. It's Helicopters-R-Us around here.

It drives me crazy. If I ever win the lottery, hahaha, I'm out of here.

I'm with you...... All that noise would drive me crazy too. My only chance of winning the lottery is if I find the winning ticket in a parking lot. Never play.

It used to be very peaceful and quiet where I live. There were no major roads or freeways in my area. Then they put in a major freeway. And the military uses it for guidance.

I'm always yelling up at them, 'why don't you use your stinking radar/GPS and go out over the desert so we don't have to listen to you!'

I don't think they can hear me.

Used to live in a high rise in downtown L.A. back in college. Even with double pane windows the traffic from the freeway was maddening.

It's very rural, and you don't want to go out walking at night, because the 'zoo' comes alive.
I love the sound of the crickets, grasshoppers, bullfrogs and birds. Especially the owls late at night.

But if a huge sinkhole opened up and swallowed that freeway whole, I would be the happiest person on the face of the Earth. The noise just carries and carries. And the people that have motorcycles with really loud mufflers? I can't say what I'd like to do to them.

I can hear the helicopters coming about five minutes before anyone else. I have very good hearing, and noise drives me crazy. The second I'm in a peaceful area, I notice it immediately. And I think my blood pressure must go down 20 points. I really need to move to some place quiet.

...there's no need to sit through those long debates!

Republicans have this down to a science. Single-issue voters are usually well-informed on their one issue. However, when the water cooler conversation strays to other issues, they don't want to be caught flat-footed. So the Republicans provide a "playbook" of simplistic answers to today's complex questions.

This is why they seem to be so stubborn. They memorized the sheet music and can't improvise as the rhythm changes. But, together, they can form a chorus.

Know thy enemy.
