Beware of Trump's October surprise

I think I have figured it out. They will rush out an untested, unsafe and ineffective “vaccine” on the public as a Hail Mary pass. Since the realization that it is bogus won’t be until after the Nov. election and the scientists will be muzzled. They have politicized masks, social distancing, testing and lockdowns. There is no question in my mind they will politicize vaccines. I think we need to start pushing now for protecting the public health from a dangerous vaccine dumped on the public that isn’t up to standards and insist on legit trial criteria and be hyper vigilant. Any “vaccine rolled out in such a short time frame is deeply suspect

I don’t think it will help him, for reasons you mentioned and that if we’re talking about it in June it isn’t going to be much of a surprise.

if Trump is down by 10+ points. They would know their jobs would be safer under the incoming admin if they DON'T approve any cockamamie vaccine.

UK have one they are testing now and they said they could make possibly 40M doses by next June at the earliest.

I know I would have second thoughts with a quick roll-out from an administration that is politicizing the covid response.

The entire world would weigh in on any such claim.

And it wouldn’t be to say woohoo.

Esper sending 4,000 troops to southern border this fall

Defense Secretary Mark Esper has approved a request for assistance from the Department of Homeland Security that would authorize the deployment of 4,000 U.S. military personnel at the southern border beginning in October, with more of the force coming from the National Guard.

"The duties to be performed by military personnel include the same categories of support as those currently being carried out along the border, including detection and monitoring, logistics, and transportation support to U.S. Customs and Border Protection," according to a statement from Pentagon spokesman Lt. Col. Chris Mitchell.

"Military personnel will not directly participate in civilian law enforcement activities," he said.

The U.S. military mission on the southern border has been criticized and opposed by Democrats, but the Pentagon says troops will assist DHS there for as long as President Trump orders it.

Trump declared an emergency at the border last year and has diverted billions of dollars from the Pentagon to build a wall between Mexico and the United States. The funding shifts, meanwhile, have drawn opposition from Democrats and Republicans alike.

You could be be right (not that we’d actually have it that soon).

I guess people willing to drink bleach and eat aquarium cleaner or take hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic — anything to keep from wearing a mask — might want to be early adopters.

I’ve heard it’s likely to be intravenous, though, which might turn off a few folks.

working in alphabet agencies. My guess, we see a steady stream of leaks that are damaging to Trump, keeping him constantly off balance.

If he rush out a vaccine, it will have to be tested in red states first, they will likely be the only places left with enough infection rate. If it doesn't go well, which is the most likely outcome, he may lose all 50 states on November 3.
