@Toure
This may be what white fragility and white fear looks like but its also what white privilege and white power looks like.

(11,949 posts)I grew up hunting and still do. We enjoy eating game rather than factory farmed meat. Dont own any of those black military type guns, but firearm safety is universal.
Blow up the photo and look closely. The dumb ass has his finger on the trigger! Even when about to shoot a deer my finger does not go to the trigger until Im about ready to shoot. I know many on DU dont have firearms and many dont much like them much. But this is gun safety 101. And to make the situation even worse, look who the muzzle is pointed at! His fucking wife!
The world was closer than these assholes realize to having one racist take out another.
So racist and stupid. He bought that gun to fit in and feel tough.
I hate Floridas gun laws. I want registration and limits. But under Florida law if he did that to me, and I carried a gun, which I think is crazy, I could have legally shot and killed him. You think those protesters did not fear for their life at that moment?
But because of his privilege he never gave a thought that the people he was threatening have the same rights he does. Well, on paper. In reality we all know the score.

(61,599 posts)And to your last point, we are seeing numerous instances of this hypocrisy, where white people insisting on their right to bear arms freak out at the thought of black and brown people with guns. Guess what. It turns out that the Second Amendment fans have always been worried about this particular thing after all. Their racism is showing.

Sounds like a brandishing charge, or something that might make them lose their weapons.
Nice behavior from officers of the court.
