I wouldn't...

...travel to or vacation in or around any COVID-19 'hot-spot' state...way too risky

...if I needed emergency medical care I probably wouldn't be able to receive it in any timely way...

...and that's not counting being needlessly exposed to the COVID-19 virus...

...getting anywhere near a COVID-19 'hot spot' state would make me extremely nervous...

...what do you think?

1. Staying home in SW Fl

Didn't make trip to northern place this year. Travel up there required driving through stupid states of Fl, Ga,Tenn. Il was a real hotspot at the time. Now, however, Fl is going crazy with virus! Can't leave the house, cases are rising and haven't seen family for a very long time. But will keep on doing what's right. This too shall pass.

it was a challenge just getting into the building to be treated

(bear got one of my beehives in the middle of the night and I got dozens of stings trying to clean the mess... no antihistamine in the house and no stores open)

Grr. But this is our choice for safety. I'd love to stay at a Air2BNB with a private beach that's within a few hours drive, but just don't trust anyplace enough. We were supposed to have gone to NZ in Feb., but obviously that didn't happen and won't get on an airplane until after we have been vaccinated by a non-drumpf related product.

Traveling to anyplace in TX, AZ, SC or FL would be especially foolish right now and actually travelling at all is taking too big a risk, IMO.

The next three waiting for a vaccine will be rough, too.

I am thankful for what I have and I am actually enjoying much of my alone time.

...in a blue non-'hot-spot' state (at least for the moment)...I would say 1/3 to 1/2 half of the public around here are take COVID-19 seriously and following the guidelines...social distancing and/or masks...

...when I gas up and pay at the pump I wear my mask and a nitrile glove...if I have to use the restroom I carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer and/or alcohol...I keep my social distance as much as possible and no longer wash or blow-dry my hands in the restroom...when I return to my car I wash my hands and spray the soles of my shoes with alcohol...

...when we camp, showers and most flush toilets are closed but the pit toilets are usually open...our state camp ground sites are well-spaced with plenty of safe room between the sites...we only pickup fast-food occasionally and then only the most well-heated fast-foods...and wiping/spraying containers down as much as practical is the norm...

...we stay to ourselves and outside of some unforeseen emergency, we feel reasonably safe avoiding most people and situations (it's not hard to do if you pay attention and make an effort)...if everyone would just automatically wear a mask and social distance when out in public we would all be much safer...

...but we've got to get use to it...today's it's COVID-19, tomorrow it'll be COVID-20 or some other virus or some other something...

...hang in there and be safe...

12. People in FL and the south in general have not taken this seriously & don't do right.

They are getting somewhat better at social distancing and now the city has a mask mandate maybe more of them will wear masks. But that's just this city, everywhere around here are no mask or social distancing mandates & idiots trumpers galore so we mostly stay home and walk around the neighborhood with our dog for exercise. We see our friends along the route 1-2x a week, but we social distance while the dogs sniff each other. Life is actually pretty good, but I just miss traveling. I know it will happen again, I just hope it's fairly soon so I have the health and vigor to enjoy it.

I also think we need a small camper because staying at out of the way places is safer now than staying in motels/hotels.

Southern NV is a vacation place that draws visitors from around the world.

And we're bordered by AZ and CA, which have accelerating numbers of new cases.

I haven't left my ZIP code since early March.
