He'll be hampered by questions about the Russian bounties, plus Covid will likely continue to spin out of control.
When the Supreme Court rules on his tax returns, if it's not in his favor, it would seem like dropping a match to a stream of gasoline.

(6,377 posts)Resigning would be the ultimate defeat to him. At least losing in November, he can claim it was rigged if he loses. Resigning doesnt allow that option.

(11,495 posts)Will be if republicans in the Senate and House turn on him. So far they have been protecting him, but if a majority of them turn on him, then I could see a complete meltdown,
but I am not going to bet that they will!
A vast majority of them are compromised, one way or another, and care more about keeping their power than they care about saving our Democracy!
