Calls for resignation mount after St. Louis mayor doxxes individuals calling for police reform

Hundred of protesters marched to the home of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson Sunday night while chanting "resign Lyda, take the cops with you," according to CNN affiliate KMOV.

The demonstration came after Krewson read the names and addresses of people calling for police reform during a Friday afternoon Facebook live video, the affiliate reported.

During the live video briefing Friday, the mayor was asked about meeting with protesters outside City Hall. In response, Krewson read letters submitted to her by protesters aloud during the video "including the names and both partial and full addresses of those calling to defund the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department," KMOV reported.

Krewson released a statement later that day saying the names and addresses she read are public information, according to the affiliate.

city of STLMO just got control of its own police dept after the state of MO had control since the civil war. I think she was perhaps reading the protesters names and addresses to make the point that these people calling for dismantling the police force were from outside the city limits.

A guess on my part. The only reason I say this is that a lot of the protesters are from outside the city limits and we've had recent looting and damage caused in the protests that occurred in a lot of cities. We're still shifting through the damages and trying to locate and prosecute the offenders.

Otherwise, she did apologize and I wish that she stays. She's been a good mayor.

There is no excuse for doxing anyone ever. She should know that and since she does not, she should resign. Just my opinion.
