Twitch has temporarily banned President Donald Trump, in the latest surprise and high-profile suspension from the streaming service. Trump’s account was banned for “hateful conduct” that was aired on stream, and Twitch says the offending content has now been removed.

Visitors to that sub was n Reddit had been redirected elsewhere for several months and the subreddit is not current by any means. This ban seems far less newsworthy than it seems. The larger issue is the ban of other subs, such as r/chapotraphouse

Those folks thrive on current issues and news, not stuff from months ago. The removal of chapotraphouse is the larger news here.

16. Yes - over in freepervile they're not shedding too many tears about this,

since they say that The_Donald was seriously dead already, and they'd moved all of the really bad stuff to the thedonald.win site, where they can be as racist, homophobic, and authoritarian as they want to be without any restrictions on how bad they can be.

If you though that FR and CU and a few of the others were bad, their new 'happy place' is an absolute stinking sub-sewer of the dregs of humanity. You have have to wonder though - a large percentage of the posters there are probably really law enforcement or anti-terrorist folks that are actually investigating them.

but it was put in quarantine about a year ago, and severely moderated (compared to its past). I don't know that it was defunct, but now its gone I guess.

Sometimes people spread out to other subs -- but often they go to other sites such as Gab or a Chan, which is fine with me.

Is it accurate to say it was banned, if users can still enter after acknowledging that the community is quarantined?

That seems to me as if it might create a safe haven for even more hateful speech.
