Trump's own national security picks now believe him 'delusional' and 'a danger to' the United State

Trump's own national security picks now believe him 'delusional' and 'a danger to' the United States

Yet another constitutional crisis appears to be on our hands: CNN is now reporting that based on "hundreds" of calls between Donald Trump and foreign leaders, multiple of Trump's own senior officials came to the conclusion that "that the President himself posed a danger to the national security of the United States."

CNN cites White House and intelligence officials "intimately familiar" with the conversations, and reports former top Trump officials "including national security advisers H.R. McMaster and John Bolton, Defense Secretary James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and White House chief of staff John Kelly" conclude "the President was often 'delusional'" in his conversations with foreign leaders.

That Trump regularly attacked former U.S. presidents on the calls is unsurprising, as is the news that Turkish strongman Recep Erdogan was one of Trump's most frequent contacts. But Trump "seemed to continually conflate his own personal interests," especially his reelection, "with the national interest."

CNN cites one person "familiar" with "almost all" Trump's calls with foreign leaders who calls Trump's behavior "'abominations' so previous to U.S. national security interests" that "even many senior Republican members" would no longer be able to back Trump. That seems an impossibility: Senior Republican leaders were fully aware of Trump's extortion of the Ukrainian government when they voted to immunize him from consequences for that act, and it seems a drastic misreading of those leaders for this presumably conservative figure to believe hearing even "hundreds" of similar acts would result in the now-fascist party abandoning Trump.

The news that seemingly all of Trump's most celebrated national security officials believed him to be "delusional" and a "danger to the national security of the United States" based on his behavior, and cite his "unfitness" for the presidency "on grounds of temperament and incompetence," is shocking. Not because they believe so: Each of these conclusions can be reached from Trump's own bizarre public behaviors. But because each one of these top officials believes Trump to pose a danger to the nation and has done absolutely nothing about it.

It is impossible to immediately imagine what sort of congressional investigation would even be appropriate here. Numerous national security officials believe Trump to be "delusional" and unfit for office, based on recordings that are no doubt tucked away on the White House's classified server, but also in recordings kept by each of those other nations, as well. Insanity.

Especially if you want to renew your sense of wonder and astonishment that this asshole charlatan is still somehow our president. These paragraphs really struck me for some reason, not because they are so over the top, more that they are just so...typical. And this was one of the "earliest" calls.

In one of the earliest calls between Putin and Trump, the President's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump were in the room to listen — joining McMaster, Tillerson, Hill, and a State Department aide to Tillerson.

"The call was all over the place," said an NSC deputy who read a detailed summary of the conversation -- with Putin speaking substantively and at length, and Trump propping himself up in short autobiographical bursts of bragging, self-congratulation and flattery toward Putin. As described to CNN, Kushner and Ivanka Trump were immediately effusive in their praise of how Trump had handled the call -- while Tillerson (who knew Putin well from his years in Russia as an oil executive), Hill and McMaster were skeptical.

Hill — author of a definitive biography of Putin -- started to explain some of the nuances she perceived from the call, according to CNN's sources — offering insight into Putin's psychology, his typical "smooth-talking" and linear approach and what the Russian leader was trying to achieve in the call. Hill was cut off by Trump, and the President continued discussing the call with Jared and Ivanka, making clear he wanted to hear the congratulatory evaluation of his daughter and her husband, rather than how Hill, Tillerson or McMaster judged the conversation.

A family member has dined with his family many times. Kelly has said long ago while STILL in the WH that there was constantly talk of the 25th. But the people who needed to pull it off were afraid of the "base". So they tried to hold the legoland together. But say "no" enough times and you're out.
He said the way to get into trump is to literally laugh at him in public. He's that insecure. Cant take not being adored.

Theres a lot more, but i dont want to blow the ID. He tried.

the opinions of these people are now being made public. They are merely describing typical Trump behavior that everyone knew and saw during the 2016 campaign. Republicans were fine with it then. No matter how bizarre Trump's behavior was, and no matter how much phony hand-wringing they did in public over his words and actions, they privately embraced him because he could beat Hillary in the electoral college..

They continued to embrace him in office because he got support for their agenda from the public, often by saying crudely what they supported privately.

But now the public has turned against Trump. He cannot beat Biden. Worse, he will cost them the Senate if he runs against Biden this year. Then the powerful Republicans in Congress will not only be out, but they will be investigated. A lot of dirt will come out.

So, to cover their asses, Republicans are dumping Trump for another candidate, probably Romney. That is why these "opinions" are being made public now. Republicans are projecting a new image for themselves. They are painting themselves as heroes, saving America from a crazy president and a "dangerous" liberal agenda under Biden.

This is as phony as the crocodile tears they publicly cried over Trump's behavior in the 2016 campaign while privately gloating and laughing over his successful rallies.

This report indicates that Biden will run against Romney, not Trump. Kiss good-bye to the Lincoln Project ads. They will be against Biden now.

Time to prepare for a Biden vs Romney campaign.
