Once that expires, they will find it much harder to fake the reality.

5. That will not...

That will not last long at all and there are other factors involved.

After this short uptick, the country will be forced to shut itself down, so to speak. There will be no other choice as this first wave continues unabated and builds to unheard of heights. It will last well beyond what we thought was going to be the second wave of this Fall.

That, to me, is mostly because the management of this has been completely botched, reopening was premature in all cases, and the dishonorable people who could not find it in themselves to lead properly or, in regards to citizens, to simply honor a methodical approach to containing this have exacerbated the problem. We have to stay on this and treat it seriously or it could extend the first wave indefinitely with constantly riding numbers as it bounces around the country.

COVID-19 is still highly contagious and, as we see now, has the potential for exponential growth. We will be fortunate if it fades out in 18-months or so, but that's the practical long-term outlook on when things may start turning around with this, that is, if the new novel swine flu doesn't begin human transmission and sweep the globe.

The long-term jobs and supplies picture is going to be bleak for months and the coming wave of evictions, increased hunger and millions of homeless people will be shocking and disruptive.

No amount of feel-good economic propaganda, (to prop things up) will mitigate what is going on and how it is turning out. We THE PEOPLE are going to desperately need regular, consistent stimulus to avoid chaos and disruption. There is are no ifs, ands or buts about it. It is essential and time is of the essence. Too little too late will be disastrous and we will all feel and see the pain eventually.

7. Big red states that were quick to reopen and closing stuff down again.

We are likely seeing what some people predicted, that reopening without having a handle on the virus would just lead to a series of reopenings and reclosings.

Expect the UE rate to bounce around, but not get better.
