Could Trump prevails on just 1 of his 2 cases (as opposed to both or neither)? For example, the Court could rule House had no legitimate legislative purpose, but NY had clear purpose (criminal investigation)?

Definitely. I think that may be the conventional wisdom coming out of the argument -- that he could win at least a partial victory in Trump v. Mazars, the congressional case, but lose in Trump v. Vance, the NY district attorney case.

Also might have some opinions next week.

Maybe Roberts wants to let Trump have one more nice holiday weekend before he brings him down with the taxes.

He knows he's going to get a MAJOR public backlash from Trump and the Repubes on the decision.

In fact I feel like the longer we have to wait the more likely they will side in our favor. If it was a pro Trump ruling they would want to get it out there as quickly as possible.

So there are technically eight cases left in the SCOTUS term, and they are biggies. Two trump tax cases, two faithless elector cases, fate of the contraceptive mandates, the robocall law, whether we give half of Oklahoma back to Native tribes, and the ministerial exception. 1/
