Supreme Court should rule on Trump tax returns Wednesday or Thursday - done for today

Elie Honig @eliehonig (CNN Legal Analyst)

Supreme Court should rule on Trump tax returns today, Weds., or Thurs. Keep in mind there are *two* distinct issues: (1) House subpoenas for legislative purposes, and (2) Manhattan DA's criminal subpoena. The Court could split it, upholding (2) but not (1). They're done issuing opinions now -- didn't happen today.

At least a 6-3 decision is what it should be! (actually it should be 9-0)

Will just make it harder to prevent and contain corruption from people within our government. It would become a free pass , and promote more criminals running . If trump threatened or bribed them or something else and they didn't recuse from the case they could see legal consequences , and should be removed from their lifetime position. He i think has tampered with the Justices, when hasn't he tried doing that.

And it should be 9-0

My fear is that there will be 5 justices who find wiggle room to send this back to the lower court which will then allow trump to "run out the clock" on his Presidency. There is just no way 5 justices rule that the court - not Congress - gets to decide what is and what isn't "legislative" matters. There is no State-Federal conflict here. There are no conflicting court cases. Nine justices can be honest here or or the country is over.
