it was his first tweet or retweet after he retweeted Chuck Grassley saying this:

This is bullshit from Grassley, of course.

But it played to Trump's ego and neediness, and so Trump spun it into his being "the lone warrior" (against China).


I'll admit that when I first saw that tweet -- where it was mentioned in an OP about the Lincoln Project's response --

I wondered what in hell Trump had meant.

But when you see it after Trump's retweet of Grassley's dishonest flattery, it makes more sense. At least in terms of Trump's narcissism.
