Why didn't she keep her mouth shut (and the publisher as well) about the book until it had already been released?

I know that the publisher wants to generate buzz, but it also invites the legal intervention.

Anybody out there have any thoughts?

It's the "Streisand effect". As with so many things with Trump, he directs attention to things that would be better left ignored.

If you want people to be interested in something, get it banned (temporarily).

Can't just be the NDA. The NDA would set out damages if it was breached.

"ok, let's hold off for a minute or two and see what we've got here" thing.

Simon & Schuster has just as many lawyers as Rump. What's more, they're competent. I'm not worried yet.

Disclaimer: No, I'm nowhere near a lawyer. Just trying to pay attention in my ignorant layman's way.

They're obviously judge shopping as this same ploy was just shot down by another judge.

Rump doesn't get to appoint state court judges, so there's that.

It's just delaying the inevitable. One way or another, it'll get out there.

It might be as simple as this lowly state court judge wants a moment in the spotlight.
