1. And so it begins...

The best part where the Senators start getting their comeuppance for their role in this nightmare.

8. Well,

He has to reconstruct the Executive branch and its agencies, and reconstruct our alliances around the world, reconstruct our tax framework and a whole lot more.

But I am confident because he can actually do that and with many of the civil servants who were there when he was VP.

And he was VP when Obama had to clean up after W and we got the ACA in spite of total obstruction by fucking Moscow Mitch.

There's no learning curve and that is the best thing for the country right now.

With so many out of work and so many jobs not coming back we have a great opportunity to transform our workforce and infrastructure, much like was done following the depression but in preparing for a cleaner technology and food production paradigm. It's about survival from now on and we have major challenges ahead, we don't have time for going backwards. I hope that's what happens.

will be fixed the moment Joe is sworn in. There's not many candidates I could say that about.

12. I hope he is already talking to experienced people

getting plans in place, selecting individuals and teams, so by the time he is sworn in, they can all hit the ground running. I don't mind Joe's age, because he will delegate and people he appoints will do a lot of the work that needs to be done. Joe will be wonderful to repair the damage to our relationships with allies. I am most concerned about the economy. Just because the impeached traitor and his henchmen are out, doesn't mean the virus will go away. And God only knows how much the graft and corruption has bled out of the treasury. I hope that the pukes lose every Senate seat that's up and not only hold the house, but gain a bigger majority, so that Joe can do what he has to to get us back on track.

As always, I hope that there are some big changes in how America does business, not just trade deals, but fairness for employees.

26. I remember back in 2008 seeing all the Democratic presidential candidates lined up on the stage

And my first thought was, after Bush* created such a mess, who would want the job now?! But compared to that - and we did elect a candidate who was absolutely up to the job - it seems like on every front possible, our next POTUS will have to totally reinvent the office! But I agree that Joe Biden does have that 2008 experience on his resume!

36. Trump seems to think he can do EVERYTHING by executive order and the repugs HAVE NOT called him out.

So the precedent is set! By Trump and the GOP.

Biden executive order #1.

I President Joseph Biden the 46 POTUS by this Executive order reset ALL changes made after January 21, 2017, by executive order to the conditions as they were on January 1, 2017. UNTIL each change can be properly reviewed by the official government agency responsible. See executive order #2 for additional directions.

Biden executive order #2.

I President Joseph Biden the 46 POTUS by this Executive order SUSPEND every federal employee hired after January 21, 2017, UNTIL they are properly vetted by official government agencies responsible for said personnel.

we wont be able to make necessary changes if their is a republican senate hitting the brakes because they would rather watch it burn down then let democratic s get thing done

20. Yes without the Senate, Joe & Nancy don't have everything they need to remake this country

In fact I'm thinking all donations going forward should go into Senate races we can flip to blue.
Joe would like donations but he's such a shoe in with dumpies latest Russian bounty story there's
no way he loses the election. So any spare coins people, let's help those running for the Senate.

13. Get the vote out in the Big O

Biden can win NE-2 and get an electoral vote. Doesn't look like Janicek has much of a chance against Sasse, though. I'm always amazed at how House District 2 can be about 50-50, and Lincoln brings the House District 1 balance closer to even there, but Republicans still win state-wide elections by 30 and 40 points. House District 3 has to be among the reddest in the country. Imagine being a Democrat in Falls City or Alliance. Yikes.

Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to vote republi-CON.

If you believe the CON job, vote for the CONmen, and then complain when they actually make the CON a reality that inevitably comes around to smack you in the face, then you deserve what you get.

And I have NO sympathy for you. You were offered something better. You CHOSE to turn it down.

15. Classic sASSe

Sasse said Congress “is broken” and needs to pull together to “get to the bottom of two questions.”

“Who knew what when inside the administration? Did the commander in chief know? If not, why the heck not? What’s going on in that process?” he said.

Two questions? I count four question marks, and probably five questions.

Sasse said the second question is “What is our plan to impose proportional response on our enemies in this battle?”

Oh, another question? So five or six questions, right Sen. sASSe? Here's a question, Ben: What has happened to the state that gave us Bob Kerrey and Jim Exon?

19. It does sort of boggle the mind.

You were unable to figure out that this guy was a revolting pig who would tear the country apart.

Really?

The whole birther thing?
Grab em buy the "p*ssy".

The list was huge before the election. I'm glad some people are waking up to the fact that the individual is actually unfit to be called a man let alone President, but seriously if you couldn't figure that out before hand you have your own screws loose.

As Charlie Pierce says, "should be kept away from sharp objects, let alone control their own money."

public platforms, social media.

Best to just put all 30% (and the repuglicon congress) in confinement for a few election cycles.

23. Biden should start calling him Coward Trump

I’m not so big on name calling from presidential candidates as it suggests intellectual bankruptcy. But it is a language Trump’s intellectually bankrupt supporters understand. That’s a label Trump is not going to be able to tear off.

24. Yes Sasse is a traitor for trump but I'm more interested in this part NOW..

“I’ve been hearing from military families in Nebraska constantly for the last 36 hours, and they’re livid,” [Sasse] said. “This is a story about the targeting of American men and women in uniform. This is about putting crosshairs on the backs of people who are fighting for our freedom. This is not about short-term politics.” [emphasis added]

This is a double crack in the wall. Ben Sasse, a Republican up for re-election in a year when Trump is also on the ballot, ought to be kissing Trump’s …. to get his base to vote for him. Instead, when Bunker Boy tweeted Sunday night that the intel community hadn’t briefed him, Sasse wasn’t having any of it:

“Who knew what when? Did the commander in chief know? And if he didn’t, how in the hell didn’t he know?” he said.

Just as (even more?) significant is that military families, who are generally more conservative, go for “traditional family values” and have been one of Trump’s major bases of support, are screaming bloody murder over Trump’s letting Putin get away with real murder. Sasse sees the importance of that, too:

“I think that it should be clear that we are deadly serious about this topic because it’s a deadly serious topic. Most of the families that have contacted me are not the kinds of people who do the 24-hour news cycle,” he said.

29. Of course sasse is lying.

As will be all of the other republicans who "discover" that trump is a pig.

They knew what he was and who he is all along.

But for them to say at this date that they have just discovered about trump what everyone else in Washington has known for four years, is just them confessing to their constituents that they are stupid beyond words, that they are way too slow to be in office.

Liar or ignorant fool. They have to be one. (Although many are both.)

35. yes. that was genuine interest

the military almost always gets used in (some) political sense .. I think that's just part of the bag .. the difference with Trump is .. well, that a lot of it just seems so inchoate and incoherent .. do we actually have a articulate foreign policy? .. our obvious disdain and contempt for any type of treaty or accord .. and then the troubling question as to who and what are "allies" are (if in fact we have any) in our current incarnation.

It's all pretty muddled .. and if I was wearing the uniform right now, I honestly can't say what my thoughts might be.
