I didn't know much about Tammy Duckworth, but she seems like a great VP candidate. Please read link

After reading this New York Times Op-ed, I think Tammy Duckworth would make a great choice for Joe Biden's V.P. Please take 3 minutes to read it and let me know what you think. The author makes some really good points ! Thanks !

her senate seat:

I love my senator.

But, I think she is still relatively young and now seems a moment for a Black woman VP

She is very smart and she doesn’t take any shit from anyone.

I also think Joe Biden admires her greatly. I remember when she spoke at the 2012 convention and it showed Biden looking at her when she was done as she walked away with her prosthetic legs. He looked so moved by her courage. That moment said so much about them both.

As compared to mr. bone spurs. I really hope Joe makes the right choice! I feel bad about being as uninformed about her as I am. I'm sure there's a lot more people like me who need to hear her story and realize what a strong impact she can make on the 2020 election.
She will definitely offset all the "Sleepy Joe" bullshit the trumptards are trying to push.

to pick an African American for his running mate due to the current political climate. She was born in Thailand which I'm sure Conservatives will make a big deal of and some may even nitpick her accent. But the last time Biden decided to run with an Illinois senator who lived in Hawaii, it worked out ok for him.

Appraising this cynically, she's from a blue state so her R governor will appoint her opponent.

She's feisty.

She's a war hero.

Is America ready to embrace a disabled President in 2024? Key question. Roosevelt didn't live in our media era

If he is healthy he will run. That being said, even if the slot is open in 2024, I think it is far from safe to assume that an incumbent VP would clear the field of serious challengers, especially after the relative success of insurgents in 2016 and 2020, I think it would be a competitive primary.

I really respect Sen. Sanders for stepping down. I think he would be a great President, but like the rest of us, he knows that we have to do whatever we can to get trump booted out. As an aside, I think Hillary Clinton deserves to see trump go down in flames!

But she would be a great choice! She is an amazing woman with a profound sense of duty and honor, two qualities sorely missing in this nightmare of an administration.

She's very smart, very canny. Here's one of her best all-time power moves: "Duckworth participated in the 2016 Chris Murphy gun control filibuster. During the sit-in, Duckworth hid her mobile phone in her prosthetic leg to avoid it being taken away from her since taking pictures and recording on the House floor is against policy." (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Duckworth)

That said, I'm not sure she really wants the job.

to say that Tammy is also MY Senator. With courage, grace and humility, she would be a good fit as V.P. Her age and experience in my view is perfect! And yes, I thought Joe said he would be choosing a woc, not necessarily an African American, but we have 2 superior humans in Susan Rice and Kamala Harris. It's a win win for this country no matter who he chooses.
