Oh my days, this image nails it

Once you have seen it you cannot unsee it so soz but was compelled to share. Although there is a bit too much truth in it to be just a funny meme. They are protecting their white shite supremacist America by any means necessary - and looking ridiculous while doing so.

"post removed" implied they couple acted out of fear for their safety.

I want to address that. NO. They left the security of their home to threaten the unarmed protesters, who were walking past their home. This couple are well educated lawyers and should have decent reasoning skills. If a person is inside their home and scared, you do not leave the safety your home provides. They wanted to threaten and intimidate peaceful protesters. There is a certain arrogance to them when they think this is a reasonable response and within their rights to peaceful protests. One might call that line of thinking white privilege.

They probably did have some vague fear. The same fear that so many of the cops shooting unarmed black folks point to in using their "stay out of jail free" cards. Some of the claim is self-serving but a piece of it is, I think, genuine. Racism makes many people, particularly white folks, see danger in people of color, and conservative punditry conflates protest with violence. Just because they ought to know better doesn't mean their lizard brains don't send danger signals.

But mostly, screw them. They might be legally correct on a fine technical legal point with the claim that their neighborhood is all technically private property, but in real life these people were just passing by on their way to the mayor's residence and would have readily explained this had they bothered to ask without firearms in their hands. It's really important to stop giving license to people to use guns to threaten others anytime they start feeling uncomfortable. Too many have died as a result.
