The recent surge of Covid cases makes me wonder how many of these individuals were wearing masks, isolating themselves, and practicing social-distancing.

Is the increase due to OTHERS (carriers) not caring and spreading the disease to those of us who are being careful? Or is COVID starting to take-down the careless people who refuse to wear masks?

We need more food and even though I mask-up and glove-up and keep my distance... I'm afraid that with MORE people being carriers (obviously) that I'll still end up catching it.

This and the lack of spike of cases in NY from the protests give me a lot of confidence about my safety, because I distance AND mask whenever I go out.

I get your fear as the concentration in your area rises. It feels like you're living in a petri dish.

This evidence is a huge relief to me because it means I can keep myself safe regardless of stupid people.

as opposed to being in a confined space. Adding masks while outside should help even more.

I would worry more about a hair salon than a supermarket. In a supermarket you keep moving, so if you walk past someone with the virus, your exposure is very brief. If you are sitting in a salon for an hour or two with someone who has it, that's a whole different thing.

Saturday in PA. Appointments Only. No chairs to wait. Patrons had to stand outdoors if they got there early.

Where before there were 6 stylists, now only 3 spaced apart from each other. Everyone had to wear a mask. Stylists wore gloves as well. Did not reuse the cape from person to person. Cuts only. No shampooing. Or blow drying. Or coloring. Obviously, could not stand 6 feet away while cutting hair.

When it came time for her to cut around my ear, she told me to detach mask from around my ears, hold it up against my face, and pinch my nose until she was finished.

This was the safety procedures in place getting a haircut.

Edit: I have short layered hair with bangs. It only took about 20 minutes in there despite not having had my hair cut since March.

with masks pulled down, forgetting to distance themselves. It's very easy to see why America is being hit hard. We don't have the compliance or attention span to deny ourselves, or do anything inconvenient, for more than six weeks. At some point it will get us all, unless we live like total hermits forever.

and the signs are obviously ignored. I don't think there is a statewide order here. It doesn't matter to me either way because I wear one no matter what.
