Connecticut is doing it RIGHT!

Today my wife and I each received applications for absentee ballots, unsolicited. The first option for eligibility is:

"COVID-19 > All voters are able to check this box pursuant to Executive Order 7QQ"

(there are six other options, too)

So, every registered voter in the state can vote by mail WITHOUT asking for a ballot. Plus they included a "BUSINESS REPLY MAIL" envelope, no postage necessary.

I'm guessing this is for our primary, which won't be until August 11 - the very last in the country.

Much better than having to know when and how to apply for one and if you qualify.

The Primary is vote by mail. Every registered person was sent a VBM ballot. There will be a few polling places open, but the voting there will be paper provisional ballots. No machines.

I don't know if all of NJ is doing it that way and honestly, I'm too lazy to look.

....the primary isn't until Aug. 11, and the applications go to everyone's home town, so it's an almost overnight process.
