Those little flourishes at the end are both tells that he is lying, and what he thinks will get him out from responsibility for what he says. Legally and technically he may be correct, because he wasn't making a predictive statement or giving specifics so "technically" he wasn't lying. He is still trying to communicate deceptively though. He knows that his followers will hear the operative phrase and he knows reporters will write snippets of the statement and the headline will not include the "I hope" or "at some point".
He is disgusting.

(203 posts)Of course SARS was more lethal, and basically everyone who got it got REALLY sick in 2 or 3 days, so isolation and contact tracing was much much easier.
