"I am young and healthy. I refuse to quarantine".

I have read this response many times on a local Chicago area message board.

My response generally is to ask the writer: "Do you have parents, grandparents, older relatives, relatives with health conditions?"

If they respond and say, yes, I reply that I feel sorry for their relatives.

It is amazing, and depressing, how self-centered and oblivious many Trump voters can be.

whatever the heck that is . . . and now the cases are starting to pile up. Young might mean they've got better stamina to fight it, but it sure as hell doesn't mean they're immune and can't land in the ICU or the graveyard.

Some of these people may have life-long health issues.

I am not afraid of dying from covid-19. I'm afraid of catching it and surviving.

I've already got enough health problems. I can't take any more.

Back when it first hit China, they were reporting lung scarring. One of the first NBA players to get it (Rudy Gobert) recently mentioned that, three months later, he has trouble smelling things. There was a report that it can trigger diabetes. It doesn’t have to kill you to ruin your life.
