Read somewhere his wife asked MSNBC to take him off the air. No link, sorry. But he did exhibit decline mentally before he left the air.

I agreed with him politically, but he was absolutely obnoxious and almost impossible for me to watch.

He was a loud-mouthed jerk who wouldn't let people answer his questions.

What do you miss?

Thanks, in advance.

At one time, his opinions were relevant. But he didn't stay up with change and the current realities of the world.

He contributed much in his career, including spending part of his life in the Peace Corps. But, unfortunately, he didn't know that he had fallen behind and it was past time for him to hang it up.

I know the approach all others will take. Sorry, but that does not attract me in the slightest. Matthews could be up or down but he could take a discussion sideways and do more with a handful of words than any of the rest of them combined.

I've had tons of man to man political debates. Matthews would be hellish to debate. That's the standard I use. Standard fare is easily parried regardless of the supposed caliber.

...was epic. The flying spittle was so endearing.

Tweety was a character, all right. Unfortunately, for every worthwhile thing he said, there was more of the above all the time. I am sorry he didn’t get a retirement party, but walking off in the middle of a broadcast has some repercussions.
