Chicago is having serious fines for noncompliant businesses this weekend:

Fines of up to $10K possible as Chicago ramps up enforcement of Phase 4 coronavirus guidelines

CHICAGO — The City of Chicago will start ramping up enforcement of Phase 4 guidelines to make sure businesses are following the coronavirus reopening rules over the holiday weekend.

The focus will be on businesses, particularly bars and restaurants. They will get fined for not following public health guidelines.

This weekend, officials with the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) will be making their rounds, visiting bars and restaurants throughout the city.

They’ll be looking for violations related to social distancing, capacity limits and face coverings.
If they find them, they’ll hand out citations with fines of up to $10,000.
BACP investigators also have the power to immediately close businesses that are in serious violation of the Phase 4 guidelines.
The city is reminding all bars and restaurants that customers must be seated, indoor capacity is limited to 25% or 50 people — whichever is fewer — and they must stop serving alcohol at 11 p.m.

Our mayor's press conference today. She discussed safety and her plan to curb the virus and violence:

Mayor Lori Lightfoot gave a press conference and she was pissed. She said she is not afraid to shut down businesses that don't comply. Our state has a positivity rate of 2.9 % on the testing which qualifies us to stay where we are at according to ya know science. But, numbers are slowly rising.

The 2.9 is less than a tenth of what we had for a while! We had a couple weeks over 30.
The only region with a net positive increase in positivity rate was the southern region on a 14 day rolling average.
Interestingly, when Phase 4 hit, I actually saw an INCREASE in mask compliance! Went from 95%+, to maybe 2 in 3, but it's now back up to probably 90%.
Not sure the thinking that caused that, but it's quite obviously better.
Two clubs down here actually already had patio/beer garden.
So, in warmer times, they're custom made for this. They have crowds, but one is pretty big, so 50% is probably 90-100 people.
I'm not going, so I don't know how smart people are about distancing, though.
