Note to the GOP
It was with great amusement (okay, actual guffaws) that I read that your party is giving Trump until Labor Day to ‘turn things around’, failing which you will start distancing yourselves from his disastrous “pResidency”.
I am truly curious to know how you think he can turn things around.
Will he suddenly stop being a racist, a dotard, and Putin’s bitch? Will he fire all of the incompetent toadies in his administration? Will he stop tweeting inane bullshit? Will he stop putting his interests above the interests of the nation?
Will he undo the damage he’s done to our country’s standing in the world, and apologize to our allies for his many insults to their honesty and integrity? Will he reverse the overturning of laws that protect the environment, and start protecting the troops?
Is he going to stop calling Black Lives Matter a ‘symbol of hate’, and cease selling Nazi-inspired merchandise?
Is he going to grow a heart over the next few weeks? How about a brain?
Your party has enabled this monster to do every detrimental thing he’s done. But now you’re giving him two months to “turn around” everything you've consistently encouraged him to do – the very things that are causing his ultimate downfall.
After all this traitor has done to the country and its people, the idea that Republicans are only now worried about their political survival if he continues doing what he’s done – with your support and blessing – is a punchline to the world’s most unfunny joke.
As my fifth grade teacher used to say, ”When God gave out brains, you thought he said ‘trains’ – and you missed yours.” And you missed yours the day you elected this brainless, self-serving idiot.
The fact that you have continued to support your “pResident’s” agenda – which consists of a combination of cruelty, stupidity, lies, treason, and insanity – and now think you can just walk way from it is beyond mind-boggling.
To put it in terms so simple even a Republican can understand them, you’ve been sleeping with a stink-spraying skunk for four years, and believing you can rid yourselves of his stench anytime soon is laughable.
