Basically I don't trust them. Basically you've got a bunch of republicans voting for Biden even if they don't support most of his positions. If they are victorious, then what will they do? Will they be welcomed back into the GOP? Will they become the re-incarnation of the DLC? Will they spend the next 2 years convincing several senators that they owe their seats to them and demand a "seat at the table" so to speak? I really wonder what their long term strategy and goals are.

If the Never-Trumpers have a firehose, we need to welcome it.

Be SURE to take the majority of both the House AND the Senate, along with the White House.
When they say ANYTHING, tell them to sit down and shut up!

Then try to reclaim what is left of their own party.
We will owe them nothing for trying to save what is left of the country.
It is what decent citizens do.

(16,646 posts)Reagan ran out the "Rockefeller republicans" from the party and they came over to the democratic party by and large. That pulled the party to the right. But more importantly it allowed the massive shift to the right of the GOP. It ultimately became the party of the insane RWNJ. I've always wanted them to go back to the GOP and reinstall some sanity so we could have real debates in this country instead of having to talk about Pizzagate. I'm just worried that they'll have a hard time re-establishing themselves in a party that to a great degree as seeing them as traitors to the cause.

They own everything and want even more.

(43,049 posts)are they at heart decent people we happen to have some disagreements with?
Of course they will go back to their Republican caves, but the simple fact that they didn't drink the Kool-Aid means they are most likely useful and productive members of society that we can disagree with without the insanity.

(10,047 posts)They know that the party as it is now, is toxic and they are still conservative republicans but they are willing to take down the party to rebuild it. We all know they will revert back but for now I will happily accept their help.

(1,206 posts)They've been violently opposed to Trump from day one - they were the only ones within the Republican party who saw how truly dangerous he was.
Oddly enough, Lindsey Graham used to be one - but he's the type you should be uncomfortable with, not the true 'Never Trumpers' - they've risked their entire careers to do what they're doing and should be applauded for the courage and effort.
At least I applaud them.

(21,560 posts)we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. as of right now drumpf is the greatest internal threat the country has ever known. that's the only thing anyone should be worried about right now........ using any resource we have to defeat him.
