What an incredible predicament. Trump's main strategy to fight coronavirus, is to

gaslight us. From saying it's a hoax, to saying it will disappear on its own, his one strategy has been to put doubt in his own scientist's conclusions in order to weaken a unified response to the virus. And in the end, he will take down his own economy, because businesses are not going to do any better on this roller coaster ride than we are.

Surreal.

Is now getting back to normal.

It's shocking. What happened to us?

TRUMP.

Really, you could get a 6th grader out of the local school, put them in charge of the Covid response, and they would have done a better job. (They would have CARED, and respected science, and listened to experts.)

They're the ones who put Trump in office and have backed him at every turn.

He's always been able to bullshit, bully, or buy his way out.

And even now it is no certain thing.

will die off faster than our base because they believed him (but they will still infect us.) By tanking the economy he's given millions of people "free time" to protest him in the streets.

He only believes he has the power to change the perception of reality.

But the external world, he just accepts as a given and then figures out some way of spinning it away it to his advantage. The only bit of reality he cares to influence is what people say about him and what money he can grift from it.

I have one right-leaning friend who lost a brother last night. She's from Texas, but she resumed usual social traveling when the rocket went up recently. So, the death was acknowledged on Facebook, but not the reason for the death. And I suspect it's going to be like that. Death by Covid is the new "C." Republicans will whisper the cause because they know that they're seeing the consequences of their warped thinking.
