or better than white people. And I have to agree with her.

Her first teacher, Mrs Powell, taught her how to eat. Just getting her to allow food in her mouth was difficult. Mrs. Powell taught her better than I could and she loved Mrs Powell more than she loved anyone.Then there was Joseph a massage therapist who worked on her back, scoliosis makes it painful. She adored him too. Very kind and nice man.
And any time she sees a black person, or especially a black child she beams at them.

White people become racist because deep down they know they are NOT bett If one truly believes in one's own goodness and beauty, one puts it forward. They don't do thay. They (seem to go out of their way to) show ugly.er or more beautiful, and are hoping if they yell loud enough no one will find that out.

(I say this as a white person in my seventies, who used to think white racists erronously thought tey werre better, but gradually learned that that theory is inconsistent with their behavior. If one truly believes in one's own beauty and goodness, one puts it forward. Racists don't. they show their ugly. They seem to go out of their way to show their ugly.
