2 stories leaked same day to 2 news entities....using Mitch's name.

A Republican strategist close to Mitch McConnell told me that Republicans have Labor Day penciled in as the deadline for Trump to have turned things around. After that, he’s on his own

The source said perhaps as soon as August, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell may have to advise Republican Senate candidates to distance themselves from Trump if needed to win election and keep their majority.

I really don't want him to get replaced. I want him to endure the humiliation of suffering the worst defeat in history.

If he bails before the convention, anything can happen, because the delegates get the final say on the nominee. The situation is much more controllable immediately after the convention. The party could nominate whomever they think could win. Ryan? Kasich?

I would think the powers that be would dangle a pardon in front of him, possibly along with some cash.

If he plays ball, he's protected. If not, he loses bigly, goes broke, and maybe goes to jail.

Thanks for explaining.

On the one hand, I want to demolish him at the ballot box, but on the other hand I don't want our country to experience the absolute chaos that he would unleash after Joe Biden is declared the winner.

And Sarah can step into the race right away - that is, if she still has the quarter of a million dollars worth of clothes from 2008!

If the "price" is right maybe. One thing I know for sure, if republicans decide to get rid of trump, and it's not his idea, he will take them all down with him.

If he leaves on his own, enough money, he will still feel like they did not support him enough to win, it's never going to be his fault, and I would not doubt for one minute that he would not spill any dirt he has on them, or he will just make shit up for those that he has nothing on, in order to get some revenge.

I have been through this kind of crap with my brother inlaw's wife. She NEVER forgot those who crossed here, and until her dying day last year, she continued to spew lies, and hate towards everyone on her list, and I was one of them. I never thought anyone could be worse than she was, but trump is by far worse, and more dangerous with his "cult" followers.

They mean that the Republicans running for reelection will try to distance themselves from Trump because he not only will NOT have coattails, he will be toxic.

My guess is that it would be Romney, Kasich, or some Republican who the center will vote for. We very well could end up with a Repub for another 4 or 8 years. Be careful what you wish for.

I want Trump to stay through November, and come January 21, 2021, once Biden is President, I want Trump and his minions investigated, prosecuted, and imprisoned.
