https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/505592-massachusetts-detective-fired-after-post-supporting-black-lives-matterA Massachusetts detective has been fired over a social media post last month expressing support of her niece attending a Black Lives Matter rally.
According to a report from MassLive.com, Florissa Fuentes, who had recently joined the Springfield Police Department's Special Victims Unit, was fired on June 19 after a May post she made while not on duty.
After I posted it, I started getting calls and texts from co-workers, Florissa Fuentes told MassLive.com.
Fuentes says she removed the Instagram post on June 1 and that she received a call from the head of the Detective Bureau, who said the police commissioner was upset with her.

OP
It's sad, but you shouldn't be making any personal social media post while on duty.

(82,849 posts)1. Should have just shot someone, Detective Fuentes
Cops don't get fired for doing that.

(12,783 posts)2. You can't support the good cops and Black Lives Matters.
Everything in life today is one way or the other, no gray areas. I support the good cops like my cousin, I want them to clean up their departments. I am not in favor of doing away with the police entirely, I don't think many people are, but they cannot execute people and get away with it, Black and Brown people deserve respect, the same respect given White people. It is just not right the way we police today, it must change and that means that bad cops need to go.
This has to be an illegal termination I would think.

Not sure if there is an appeal for that.

The image showed her niece protesting in Atlanta. Flames leap up in the background and her niece holds a sign that reads: Shoot the F--- Back. A friends sign reads: Who do we call when the murderer wears the badge?https://www.masslive.com/news/2020/07/springfield-police-detective-fired-over-pro-black-lives-matter-social-media-post.html
The link was in the OP. I assume that since we're all inquiring minds I'm not quoting anything others haven't all seen. And supported.
First sign sort of implies that if an African-American's shot, maybe the appropriate thing is to shoot a cop.
