Rural Oklahoma on July 4th and I am not hearing any fireworks.

Usually, they have been going off for a week at all times of day and night.
This year, I have not seen a single customer vehicle at the fireworks stand that is usually quite busy.

Very strange for around here.

but went to the store yesterday, and it was packed with folks buying up cook out supplies. Everyone wearing masks by the way. Everyone went about their errand.

I think a lot of family bbqs today.

Not a pop so far today (1:30pm), but we've heard the stray cracklers and boomers a few times a day for the last couple of weeks, so I'm sure they're just saving it up for tonight.

I'm gonna do a lot of this , and make frequent checks to make sure the house ain't burning down.

to be there - it's been three weeks here in NE Indiana where the mortars have been going off, all times of the day. So damn tired of it.

Government payments are gone after end of this month, so lots of fear.

Yes, the level of fireworks is subdued in my low-to-middle income neighborhood in north-central KY.

Originally from the country, I love the quiet.

NE Illinois.
But, not ridiculous and only the last couple nights.
Fortunately, our pets don't pay them much mind. They pretty much ignore them.

They have been firing them off every day and night since before Memorial Day. Of course we like to shoot off things here...
