Usually, they have been going off for a week at all times of day and night.
This year, I have not seen a single customer vehicle at the fireworks stand that is usually quite busy.
Very strange for around here.

(13,903 posts)but went to the store yesterday, and it was packed with folks buying up cook out supplies. Everyone wearing masks by the way. Everyone went about their errand.
I think a lot of family bbqs today.

(47,552 posts)Not a pop so far today (1:30pm), but we've heard the stray cracklers and boomers a few times a day for the last couple of weeks, so I'm sure they're just saving it up for tonight.
I'm gonna do a lot of this , and make frequent checks to make sure the house ain't burning down.

Yes, the level of fireworks is subdued in my low-to-middle income neighborhood in north-central KY.
Originally from the country, I love the quiet.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Memphis police say they are getting hundreds of calls about fireworks being set off illegally.
Memphis police report that between April 1 and June 29 this year, they received 963 complaints about fireworks. The same time last year, just 86 complaints. Thats a 1,020% increase.

But, not ridiculous and only the last couple nights.
Fortunately, our pets don't pay them much mind. They pretty much ignore them.
