That Paul Ryan supposedly sleeps in his office on Capitol Hill when in D.C. If you've ever been in the House office buildings, they are like museums, with enormously long hallways. Where would he shower? Supposedly in the House gymnasium. Does this seem feasible to anybody? Waking up on a "cot" everyday Congress is in session, walking out into the hallway all crusty and bleary eyed and walking down to take a shower in the gym. You'd have to take all your toiletries and dress shirts, dress shoes, suits with you back and forth down these long hallways up and down elevators. I'm thinking that there is probably a network of bunk houses like the C street house that these guys utilize, but they don't want to disclose this because it would make it look like they are coddling up to special interest. That story about him sleeping in his office just always seemed fishy to me.

One-Fifth of House Freshmen Sleep in Offices

Kindly Refrain
(423 posts)All these Republican House members sleeping in their offices. They are trying to portray some B.S. notion that "they came to D.C to work!" and that "they aren't going to spend the taxpayers dime finding a place to live". Don't they get a housing allowance? Are these guys not pocketing their allowance? Just seems like some contrived bullshit.
