it was labeled as "manipulated media" on Twitter because of the fact that the shortened video apparently implied that he was linking Vietnam to Desert Storm.

However, I don't think that was the issue at all. The issue is the words that he used, and the words that he stumbled over. Even in complete context, he makes absolutely no sense. What is typed in the OP is what was said, verbatim.

I apologize to you in that that I may have come across as not believing you. I did some research after reading what you typed, and you are correct in saying that Snopes and Twitter did indeed address the shortened video because of the apparent linkage of Vietnam to Desert Storm.

But the issue is his inability to form sentences and convey meaning. Listening to trump is like when you get a text from someone that didn’t use spell check or review their post before they send it. You have to piece things together and make mental corrections to figure it out.
